Welcome to Nara

There is no innovation and creativity without failure. The Nara Methodology was created to address many of the common causes of failures in the Outdoor Living Space. Nara is much more than a methodology though, it is a lifestyle, a philosophy, and a system.

The Nara System is designed around changing the belief that these problems are just part of the game. The Nara System connects people to nature, without conforming to problematic industry norms, by providing innovative approaches in the creation of nature inspired environments which instill peace of mind and clarity.

Nara combines tried and true techniques of the Old World and marries them with modern technology to bring to you more sustainable options for the places we enjoy most. That sounds great and all, but what does that mean for you?

Have you ever seen a crumbling masonry feature in front of someone’s house, perhaps your own? Have you witnessed flooding, pooling, or erosion in your landscape? Have you ever seen a paver patio that looks more like a potato chip than an inviting place to spend an afternoon? Certainly there are numerous reasons each of these can happen. What if instead of systems being built with speed and low cost as the driver, a system existed that addressed these common problems in the design? What would that mean for your bottom line in the long run?

The Nara System includes:

Nara Stone

This is where it all started. The world’s oldest building material. Every Nara Stone feature includes free draining gravel bases, dry stone construction methods, and real stone features. This means every Nara Stone feature includes sustainably sourced materials guaranteed to stand the test of time against the elements and require minimal maintenance over the lifespan compared to trending concrete based options.

Nara Habitat

Life, that’s what this is all about isn’t it? Creations inspired by nature that become home to more than humans. The sights, sounds, and smells of the inspired habitats attract wildlife and create a balanced environment for each user. Responsibly selected and placed elements ensure proper growth and life expectancy. Life-long return and enjoyment for all that grace its’ space.

Nara Flow

The key to life is to remain fluid. Bob and weave, tuck and roll no matter what obstacle is before you. Similar to how water flows in a stream or a fountain that mesmerizes it’s viewers with its ever changing state. Water features have been an important part of created landscapes since the birth of Nara, (the first permanent capital of Japan AD 710), the first known recorded home of Japanese gardens, and the inspiration for the Nara Methodology. It is important for every Nara Flow feature to embody a deep inspiration from nature and be respectful of the elements which have been chosen to grace the feature with their presence.

Nara Clear

The dirty little secret, the thing no one wants to talk about, the one thing that holds it all together but very few get to see. Every Nara System is based off the backbone of Nara Clear our Integrated Water Management System. This means responsible handling of surface and ground water to ensure the timely and environmentally friendly release back into the earth. The most important part of every Nara installation and the core of how Nara addresses common failures such as flooding, pooling, and erosion in the landscape is the Nara Clear System.
